Choosing a god is the most important decision in Lost Tower. Each god reshapes how you play, what you build, and how you progress. This guide walks through the decision based on your playstyle and goals.

For most new players, God of War is the right first choice: simplest mechanics, fastest learning curve, best for understanding the game. After mastering the basics, consider God of Life for survivability, God of Ice for control, or God of Time if you play in very short bursts.
Quick answer
New: War. Survivability-focused: Life. Control-focused: Ice. Short-burst play: Time. Long-game player: Time.
If you are new
Pick God of War. War teaches you the fundamentals: damage matters, attack speed matters, range matters. The decisions War asks you to make are the same decisions every god asks, but War's are the most legible. Master War first, then explore.
If you want aggression
Stay with God of War. War scales aggression into the endgame better than any other god. Past wave 50, War-aligned builds with the right parchments are devastating.
If you want survivability
Try God of Life. Life's resurrection effects let you survive boss waves that other builds cannot. Life is excellent for players who get frustrated by losing late runs.
If you want control
Try God of Ice. Ice slows enemies, freezes waves, and turns tempo into a kill mechanic. Ice is the patron of patience, the most rewarding for players who plan ahead.
If you play in short bursts
Try God of Time. Time excels at idle progression. If you check in twice a day for ten minutes, Time will outperform every other god. If you play actively for hours, Time underperforms. Match it to how you actually use your phone.
