Of the four gods who watch the tower, War is the oldest. They were here before the world fell, and they will be here after. They grant their power to those who refuse to flinch. This is their story.
The God of War is the oldest of the four gods. Born from the desert, they grant overwhelming offensive power to followers who answer every wave with aggression. In gameplay, they are the most beginner-friendly god, focused on raw damage multipliers and critical strikes.
Identity
The God of War goes by many names in the surviving texts. The Burning Eye. The First Hand. The Desert That Walks. None of these names was given by the god themselves. They have not spoken since the world began to die.
Origin
The desert was the first place. Before the tower stood, before the four gods divided their domains, there was sand and wind and one consciousness watching from beneath the dunes. That consciousness became War when the first strife emerged among the living. They have been older than any conflict ever since.
Philosophy
War does not believe in defense. They believe in the answer. Every threat met with greater force is a threat that ends. Patience belongs to others; the God of War belongs to those who refuse to wait.
The cost of their patronage is also their lesson: aggression without restraint exhausts itself. Those who serve War must learn rhythm, or burn out. The god teaches by failure.
Gameplay alignment
In Lost Tower, the God of War provides damage multipliers, critical chance scaling, and attack speed bonuses. They are the simplest god to play and the most forgiving for new players. Builds aligned with War favor armor-piercing parchments and burst damage abilities. See the bestiary for which enemies they counter best.
Related lore
The God of War's relationship with the other three gods is uneasy. They tolerate Life because Life's patronage prevents extinction. They distrust Ice, whose patience runs counter to everything they are. Time they fear, though they would never admit it.
