Most players hit one or more of these mistakes early. They are easy to make and easy to fix once you recognize them. If your progression feels stuck, the answer is probably in this guide.

Direct answer

The most common Lost Tower mistakes: spreading Essence across multiple gods, wasting Marks on Common parchment draws, building generalist instead of specialist late-game, ignoring daily missions, and picking God of Time first as a new player. All are easy to fix.

Quick answer

Focus your Essence. Save your Marks. Specialize your build. Do your dailies. Start with War.

Spending mistakes

The big one: spending Marks on Common parchment draws. The expected value is too low to justify the spend. Wait, save up, draw Rare or Epic in batches.

Second: spending all gold on tier-1 upgrades in match. The next tier costs more but gives proportionally more power. Save for tier transitions.

Third: hoarding Shards forever. Shards are made to be spent. Invest in base tower levels.

Build mistakes

Generalist builds work to wave 30. They stop working at wave 50. Players who try to keep doing "a bit of everything" hit a wall. The fix: pick a specialization (damage, control, survivability) and commit.

See advanced guide for specialization principles.

God-choice mistakes

Starting with God of Time. Time is the deepest god but the worst beginner choice. New players who pick Time get frustrated by the early game and quit. Start with War. Move to Time later.

Also: spreading Essence across multiple gods. Pick one main and commit. God selection guide walks through the choice.

Time-investment mistakes

Trying to play long sessions every day. Lost Tower rewards consistency more than intensity. Short daily sessions outperform marathon weekend sessions in the long run. Idle progression compounds; intense bursts do not.

Skipping daily missions. Marks are the rarest currency. Daily missions are the most reliable Marks source. Skip them and you fall behind.
