Lost Tower enemies are organized into archetypes that test different aspects of your build. Understanding the bestiary is critical for advanced play: matching counter strategies to incoming waves separates good runs from great ones.

Direct answer

Lost Tower features five enemy archetypes: light (fast, low HP), armored (slow, high HP), swarm (many small units), elite (special abilities), and bosses (every 10 waves). Each archetype tests a different aspect of your tower build, and learning to anticipate them is the core of advanced play.

Quick answer

Five archetypes. Mixed waves appear later. Boss every 10 waves with unique mechanics. Counter strategy is the central decision space.

Light enemies

Fast movement, low HP. Appear in early waves and mixed waves throughout. Counters: high attack speed towers, splash damage, slow effects. Light enemies are usually not the threat themselves; they distract from worse waves coming.

Armored enemies

Slow movement, high HP, often armor. Take reduced damage from low-power attacks. Counters: armor-piercing parchments, single-target precision damage, God of War's damage multipliers. See our God of War lore page for build alignment.

Swarm enemies

Many small units in tight formations. Individual HP is low but cumulative damage is high if any get through. Counters: splash damage, chain effects, God of Ice's area freeze. The God of Ice is the canonical anti-swarm patron.

Elite enemies

Each elite has a unique ability: healing aura, damage shield, summon adds, area damage. Elites appear from wave 15 onward and are usually mixed into other waves. Counters depend on the elite type. General rule: prioritize elites in your targeting.

Bosses

Every 10 waves features a boss. Bosses have phased mechanics: phase 1 might be a damage check, phase 2 a survivability check, phase 3 a positioning check. Boss waves are the gates that determine your final run length. Counter strategy is build-dependent.
